America's Funding Problems

Uncovering the myths....

America has many probelms with school funding. But this site has chosen to take a deep look at the issues that face students in the Columbus Public School district in the State of ohio and compare it to some of the suburban districts.

Columbus has 66,982 students coming from many different walks of live. Students come to school trying to make a way for them to have a better life. They come to get away from the crazy world they live in out on the streets and many students come to school just to get two good meals, not knowing if they will receive dinner once they return home.

Columbus tries to make a way for their students but with a small budget and property taxes as low as they are in Columbus how can students be properly taught if the average family only makes $34,275 per year. Most of the funding for schools comes from property taxes. Average income goes hand in hand with the cities property tax. The tax can not be too high because the families can not afford it. In the end the kids are the ones to suffer the most.
