Parents who believe that because their children attend suburban schools rather than city schools are safer are completly
wrong. The parents of children who attend city schools feel very confident with the safety of the schools due to tight controls.
Many of the school shootings and other major acts of violence that take place in school have happened in suburban school
districts. the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research found that alcohol, tobacco and illegal drug use and
sex are just as common -- if not more common -- among suburban high school students as they are among city students. Parents
of children who attend suburban schools must realize that just because they have more money, children drive nicer cars, and
get a better education does not mean that their children dont drink, do drugs, have sex and have violence in their schools.
Peer pressure exists in all schools no matter where you live.
